Be true to who you are.

Everyday we decide what we believe in, when me and my husband went to go and see Skillet in concert, it was an amazing night and my husband at the end got saved so it will forever be in my heart. That day was borderline 100 degrees, we had to go to Worlds of Fun and then later on go to the concert. It may have been even hotter than that and water doesn't help much when you keep moving here to there. I remember the moment that concert started and the sun was directly behind all of us, beating down on our necks, and making us sweat. Hundreds of people crowded into these bleachers where we sat waiting for the last performance and main one, Skillet. The first band got on the stage and they prayed, this concert was right after the Colorado shooting and we prayed for all of the families and had a moment of silence. After that, Jamie Grace got on the stage and was amazing, I had actually never heard her before. Every artist, one after the other prayed and asked everyone to keep pushing on, a lot of people left because the heat was too much and they said to just keep jumping and singing and keep going until the sun goes down. I am a firm believer that until your exhausted, until your almost falling over because your knees are so weak that you can not fully experience the presence of God. Finally as Skillet stepped on the stage the sun slowly started to sink. John Cooper, the lead singer of Skillet got on the stage and said congratulations to everyone that had persevered and stayed through the heat until he was up there. He said, "Do you know their is a war everyday?" We all after praying for the shooting thought of course that he was speaking for our troops and got completely silent. He went on and said, "Everyday we have a war in our hearts. We decide one day after another if we will stand by our God or if we go the other direction." It was a moment of realization with me. Some days I wake up with an amazing perspective facing the day forward and ready to make every moment count and other days I wake up dreading the day forward and wanting to get back in bed. I started to realize that maybe on the bad days I need to have the realization that everyday is a good day if it's a day I don't turn my back on my God. We have a decison everyday on what side we choose to follow, we decide what you stand by, what we can take, and how we handle the decisions put before us. These days, I find myself pushed to a fence, that it is easy to believe what you can see, it is easy to have doubt, and that times are hard and they can make you question if God really is there. But, even  in darkness God is part of who I am, he saved me and everyday even if I make mistakes, I know I already fall short of the Glory of God, but I know everyday I choose him, One of my favorite quotes, "Be the kind of woman who, when your feet hit the floor in the morning, the Devil says, "Oh no, She's Up." I have those words in my head every morning. What side do you choose when you face your day? Do you want a day of positivity and kindness? Or are you wanting a day of anger and negativity? I'm going with the positive one, I heard a song today and it just hit it right on the head of the nail with me. Really think about the lyrics.
