Merry Christmas

Since I have a newborn on my hands and am busy most of the time, I have decided to get my Christmas post out there ahead of time. As the Holidays approach most of us are thinking about getting all the presents on time, putting up Christmas lights, and are eager to begin our baking and holiday cheer. I know that the holidays are filled with gift giving and that it is easy to get caught up in the money and finer things, but let's be sure that we remember the best things in life are free. The family gathered around you, the happiness you feel being surrounded by them all, and the love that you all have with everyone together, those are the reasons for the season and we need to be sure to appreciate them. We also just closed the book on Thanksgiving, but need to keep in mind that our being thankful does not end after Thanksgiving, be sure to remember what you are thankful for on Christmas as well. There are a lot of people who have no one, no shelter, no gifts, and no food at this time and if there is anyone you know that needs prayer or company to make their holiday more bright try and help them. I know that after my Grandma and Papa died every year it felt as though there was something missing because we were so used to seeing their faces and hearing their voices that celebrating Christmas was a bit hard for everyone. It took a little joy away every year, and I can't imagine looking around and having no one to share this holiday with. We should all not only remember how blessed we are we should also try and do a random act of kindness just to brighten someone's day. There are a lot of places to help out such as homeless shelter, soup kitchens, and one that I personally recommend is,"Coats for Kids." Their message is simple, donate coats to all the kids who have none this year to stay warm, the Salvation Army takes part in the campaign every year and I am fully supportive of their mission. Also the Salvation Army finds people jobs to take care of their families and we all know that right now a lot of people have a hard time providing, or being laid off, and have no idea what they are going to do and the Salvation Army gives them back hope. If you are interested in finding a drop off site or want to know more about it you can go here
There are a lot of things you can do to help someone during the Holidays and make it so a family has a happy time just as we do. Also there is "RedRacks" which has donation stops all over and always the Salvation Army to donate clothing and other things that children will need in this cold weather and all year round. I hope that everyone tries to create as much love and happiness as they can and has an amazing Christmas. Not Happy Holidays, Merry Christmas because Jesus is the reason for the season and I'm thankful for him in my life as well. I hope that God keeps you safe through this winter weather and that your family is blessed with amazing times. To close this post I'm going to finish with a video that I love and will remind us of how blessed we are this season. :))
