In GOD We Trust

Lately with the news and chaos I feel everywhere it is hard for me with having two young children to feel safe. Most days I don't feel safe and to be completely honest if it wasn't for our troops fighting for our freedom everyday I wouldn't get relief from my worries at all. I think this happens to me more during the Holidays because I am having such a wonderful time with my family that I get scared that it could get ruined or that something could take them away from me. Today I sat and thought about the direction our country is going in and I try not to think about it because I am filled with anger, fear, and anxiety about it. Most people are excited for change and I'm not one to oppose it, but I'm worried everyday that God will disappear from this country completely. We have stopped saying the pledge, a lot of people no longer say, "In God we Trust." and our President has announced that we are no longer a Christian country. I don't know what your beliefs are, but I for one am angry and worried. That pledge means something and to take it out because of words that are entirely true and think that our children don't need to say it is ridiculous. It is us celebrating that we are free, that we are united and proud to be an American, and as well celebrating that God is where we put our trust, that God is who will guide us in our battles, and that God is why we do not fall, to not acknowledge that is to guarantee we fail. Let me tell those of you who are scared and worried with the direction we are going in what you need to do, pray. Every time I get even a thought of anxiety about the subject I stop whatever I am doing and I pray about it because at the end of the day that is all I can do and no one can take my God away from me, there may be people who choose a different God, who don't believe in God at all, and that don't run their lives surrounded by God, but that does not mean that he is not there and that he is not still holding you up. And that is the beauty in it, in this country we are free to believe whatever we feel, we are free to love any God, and we can not be persecuted for those beliefs. But to not acknowledge that this country was built by God is completely lying to yourself. Those words were written for good reason and I feel that they should be celebrated, just as our rights should be, and everything else we hold dear to us about America. But, there are a few things I know that no matter what anyone else says are true. My children will come to know God and my house will serve the Lord. Regardless of how others choose to live their lives I am choosing put all my trust, strength, and faith in the place where it belongs, in the hands of God. I know that with him, I will not stay worried or scared for any aspect of my life because he will take my worry and anger away no matter how much it is weighing me down, and I also know that he will watch over me and my family and that no matter what happens I will be safe and whatever is meant to be, will be. The last thing that I know and I want everyone to listen and if there is one thing you take from this post, please take this, no matter who has the power in this country and any other, the true one with the power is God. He guides us and he is my Driver, my strength, where I lay my trust, and he is who will decide what happens to every one of us and our country as a whole. Anyone can say that we are not a Christian country, but as for me and my family we will put our trust in God, I will trust him to show me the way and I will let him be my guiding light. I am going to close this post with a simple verse, one that is only a few words, but that sums up all that I've said.
When I am afraid, I will trust in you. -Psalm 56:3
